The main purpose of the Bereavement Services is to provide burial, cremation, memorial and bereavement support services. The Cemeteries are also promoted as places of quiet reflection, not only where people can remember their loved ones, but also somewhere they can visit and experience the tranquillity of peaceful surroundings. Cemeteries also offer a wealth of social history and wildlife.

The Service sets out to offer useful advice and support to not only the bereaved, but those who are supporting a bereaved person. It gives general information on registration of a death, useful contacts, and facilities offered by Agency 17(SMH). We provide a caring, sensitive and high quality service for people at a difficult time in their lives. Losing a loved one presents many challenges, and the Bereavement Services staff can give helpful advice and guidance about all aspects of funerals and memorials. We welcome the opportunity to provide information and endeavour to provide a peaceful and comfortable atmosphere at the Cemeteries and Crematoria.
